Four is the number of our sublunary world. 4 seasons, 4 points of the compass, 4 divisions of this painting with 3 less and less sharp inner borders. Knowing that Andrew is striving rather for unity than division I can't but feel that this painting is making fun of a state of mind, especially as one of the dividing lines is drawn with the help of a ruler - and not erased. Pedantic division is artificial, is imposed: from outside?

What does the writing on this wall mean? "Visit"? We just visit this sublunary perspective of room and time where there always is a new morning?

I love this, Andrew! Wonderful and so subtle, the horizontal bands give it a calm, meditative quality and it reads on so many different levels! It breathes.....................

@Detlef_c ~ I see we are reading from a similar, if not identical hymn sheet :)) Yes, 4 for me represents the physical world, yellow = the intellect ~ and the white band, the cleansing power of sleep.
Pondering lately, the need to drag the past into the present ~ hence the minus sign. Thank you Detlef.

Another lovely conundrum. Landscape, seascape? No, planes. Witty and subtle. The shed has been good.

And the new morning said, "I shall view my viewers all the days of my life. But for those who don't watch me, I see right through them."

It seems I am late to see your post...In fact, a full day late, which means it truly is a New Morning, for me anyway...so with that that circular theme in mind, I smile as I gaze upon the linear horizons of sand, sea and sky (how could I see anything but....?) I'll have to assume then, that the circles in my mind are hidden somewhere deep beneath the line in the sand.

Decided to re-visit this painting and try to remove "New Morning" not easy but here goes:
Layers of comfort and comfort-less: At the top there is a place a space to step onto sit comforably and go off on a journey surrounded by a blend of amazing warm colours and it is in (a) sky.

To get there I need to start at the bottom wade through the mud get bitten, sucked in but not beaten, find my way through the mist with many hidden things not visiible but I can hear and sense them.

I am alone but looking, hoping to find another being then in at the edge I see a shape to cimb to the next layer and then I can fly to the space:

Not sure about the return journey though.

Maybe to a new morning~~~~~

Thank you Andrew:)

Andrew, herein lies another facet to your genius; the ability to make one 'Feel' when viewing your work. I truly felt I was being watched by your new morning. At once, I felt vulnerable and eased by promise. You are a Master at your craft.

Warm. Cool. A shore...of dawning,
horizons calling...
Jump in, lie near, or just contemplate...
it all works superbly .
I like this piece a lot. :)
