A little history
 
Some 20 years back I discovered an ability to dowse. I put in some serious practice and found I was reasonably proficient at using the rods (metal coathanger, bent to an 'L' shape).
This newfound skill led me to conclude, that the invisible was as interesting, if not more interesting than the visible!
 
Energy of marks
 
One day, in my workspace, a question came ~ I wonder if marks have a dowsable energy? I checked out the wall of the studio with the rods, to make sure it was 'neutral' and proceeded to draw a mark (multiplication sign I think it was) on this wall.Then with rods in hand I approached the mark asking my question, and lo and behold, discovered an energy field radiating from it. I repeated the experiment with different marks~ each time getting a positive reading of variable magnitude.
 
A little aside
 
It was around this time and my youngest (who was then about 11) was staying with me ~ it was Grand National day ~ and she said to me 'Dad, shall we try and pick the winner of the National, with the rods?' We always had a bet on this race and it seemed like a reasonable request, so we went down the list of runners, asking the question 'Please tell me if this horse wins the National' (have to use pleases and thank-yous). A strange thing happened: the rod gave a positive response to ALL the horses, but three of them seemed to give a stronger 'yes' so we put an each way bet on these three. Sure enough, they came in FIRST SECOND and THIRD! But there is a moral to this story — this was the year that the horses got tangled up with the starting wires...the race and all bets were declared void! And the moral ~ you can't use this stuff for personal gain.
 
A demonstration
 
Years later, my artist friends, who had got to know of my wacky ways, asked me to give a talk on the energy of marks. Hesitantly, I agreed.
 
The room was packed, and there was a buzz. I had my rods with me and I asked a volunteer to draw a shape (circle in this case) in the air.With rod in hand I 're-found' the mark she'd drawn. Ok ~ but I was inthe room...I saw her draw it...anyone could do that. They were right ~I had to take a leap of faith. I asked for another volunteer to draw a different shape (triangle), anywhere in the room, but with me safely outside (and accompanied) while they drew it. We were called back in. With rod in hand, I proceeded down one side of the room, asking the rod 'Please tell me where the triangle was drawn?'. The rod responded. I then walked the wall at right angles and sure enough, a response. The rest was easy. I had the two coordinates and walked to the triangle! Applause! I was staggered.
 
Thoughts are real
 
I have repeated this experiment many times since and continue to be amazed.
It proves to me that thoughtforms (indeed thoughts themselves) are real, almost physical things. And another thing ~ that triangle is still there - I checked! The only way to remove it, is to 'rub it out' with conscious intent.

When tracing the origin of characters (letters of the alphabet) ~ things can get pretty interesting...
The Hebrew character 'mem', means 'water' ~ it is equivalent to our 'm' and has a numerical (energetic) value of 40.
 
On the subject of water ~ a word about homeopathy ~
 
A homeopathic remedy is made, by successively diluting (in water/alcholol) the original substance and shaking it (succussing) between each dilution. This is done until none of the original substance remains, only the energetic or vibrational property of the substance. Scientists have proposed the "memory of water" theory, whereby the structure of the water/alcohol solution is altered by the substance during the process of dilution and retains this structure even after none of the actual substance remains.
 
During a telephone consultation with my homeopath, she prescribed a remedy that I didn't have in the house. In this instance, the remedy was 'Berlin Wall'. She said to me 'write the words 'Berlin Wall' on a piece of paper and stand a glass of water on it for 5 mins ~ then drink the liquid'.

My own view is that water is like a liquid version of the computer chip ~ liquid crystal if you like, and it can be programmed.
Oh and another thing ~ strange coincidence that water holds the 'mem'-ory. (must drink some more)

Ulam's Little Doodle

The Ulam spiral, or prime spiral is a simple method of graphing the prime numbers that reveals a pattern. It was discovered by the mathematician Stanislaw Ulam in 1963, while doodling on scrap paper at a scientific meeting. Ulam, bored that day, wrote down a regular grid of numbers, starting with 1 at the centre, and spiralling out: Numbers from 1 to 50 placed in spiral order. He then circled all of the prime numbers and to his surprise, the circled numbers tended to line upalong diagonal lines.

However did that letter...get that name?
Usually there is a logic behind a name ~ in this instance I need help.
Imagine if nothing were named.
Imagine just looking...without allowing the busy mind to apply its labels.
The eyes would be portals...allowing the visual stimuli to just pour through...
No judgement....no separation....

When the mind doesn't interfere, EVERYTHING is new!

How would it be, if no thing had a name ~ not you ~ not me ~ nothing?

Amicable Pair

Amicable Numbers are numbers whose factors add up to the other number in the pair. They are quite rare, though not as rare as Perfect Numbers. Like the idea that two numbers can be friends.

A little more (from Wikipedia).....

Amicable numbers are two different numbers so related that the sum of the proper divisors of one of the numbers is equal to the other. (A proper divisor of a number is a positive integer divisor other than the number itself. For example, the proper divisors of 6 are 1, 2, and 3.) A pair of amicable numbers constitutes an aliquot sequence of period 2.
A related concept is that of a perfect number, which is a number which equals the sum of its own proper divisors, in other words a number which forms an aliquot sequence of period 1.
For example, the smallest pair of amicable numbers is (220, 284); for the proper divisors of 220 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 11, 20, 22, 44, 55 and 110, of which the sum is 284; and the proper divisors of 284 are 1, 2, 4, 71, and 142, of which the sum is 220.
Amicable numbers were known to the Pythagoreans, who credited them with many mystical properties.

twelve hairs

Having prepared the ground, I discovered twelve hairs caught in the paint surface.
This piece is about honoring the imperfections ~ since that is where our magnificence lies. The painted letters are in Helvetica Bold Condensed ~ love that face.
